If you told me a year ago that replying to posts on X could become part of my job and actually pay me $1000 a month I would’ve laughed. But here I am, sharing how I earn by doing something many people overlook: writing thoughtful replies that add value to conversations.

I know what you’re thinking: “You get paid to comment? That sounds like spam.” But let me stop you right there. It’s not. Being a reply guy (yes, that’s what it’s called) isn’t about posting random comments to get noticed. It’s about contributing to conversations in a meaningful way so that people take notice of you — or, in my case, the Web3 companies I represent.

And no, replying isn’t all I do, but it’s one of the jobs I’ve found unexpectedly rewarding, both financially and creatively.

What Does a Reply Guy Actually Do?

To clear things up, being a reply guy means I post replies on trending tweets and discussions using company accounts. My goal isn’t to sell products or spam links; it’s to add value. In Web3, where conversations about blockchain, crypto, and NFTs dominate, value comes in the form of sharing helpful insights, thoughtful takes, or engaging remarks.

For example, let’s say someone tweets:

“The market’s down, but Fibonacci levels are showing strong support here.”

A spammy reply might look like this:

“Check out [Company Name], the BEST crypto app! 🚀🚀”

That’s not me. My reply would look something like:

“Fibonacci retracement levels are such a lifesaver for spotting entry zones. Have you been looking at MA slopes too? Seems bears are still holding control for now.”

See the difference?

I’m not selling, I’m joining the conversation. I focus on adding something valuable that people can engage with.

How I Got Started

It all began when I noticed Web3 startup accounts always showing up in the comments of popular posts. Their replies weren’t annoying or forced — they were sharp, insightful, and well-timed. It was clear there was a strategy behind it.
