100 Days Reading Journey: Day 9 — Learning to Be Both a Fox and a Hedgehog
Today is Day 9 of my reading journey,
and I started a new book, The Outsiders. Right away, I found an interesting idea that stuck with me,
one that feels really relevant to my work and, honestly, to life in general.
The book introduced this concept of two types of thinkers: the “fox” and the “hedgehog.”
Here’s the gist:
A hedgehog focuses on one thing and knows it really well.
This person becomes an expert in a specific field.
They’re like those people who find their one passion and dive into it completely.
A fox, on the other hand, knows a bit about many things.
They jump between topics, picking up ideas and making connections.
Foxes are adaptable, and they’re always exploring new areas.
As I read about these two types,
I started thinking about how this relates to my job and my own way of learning.
