On Day 11 of my 100-day reading journey,

I learned a powerful lesson about decision making in business from the book The Outsiders by William Thorndike.

It came from the story of Anders, a CEO facing a major turning point in his career.

His company was on the edge of big growth, and the choices he made showed some timeless lessons about leadership and flexibility.

Anders faced a tough choice when his company received an offer to buy one of its divisions.

It wasn’t an easy decision.

On one side, it was a chance to sell a part of the business that had potential but needed a lot of care.

On the other, keeping it meant taking on the challenge of growing it into something bigger.

Anders decided to say no to the offer because he believed in the company’s future and his own ability to make it better.

Honestly, I could almost feel the weight of that decision as I read about it.
